In a bid to build the capacity necessary for sustainable national development, The Elevation Church (TEC) has set plans in motion for its annual teenagers’ conference, tagged ‘Navigate’.

The conference is designed to instil an upright character in teenagers by equipping them with invaluable skills and virtues to thrive in all facets of life.

Navigate 2019 is a five-day conference, themed “iRise” designed to nurture the character, talent and uniqueness of the teenagers, helping them to imbibe the culture of leadership required for a life of impact. Navigate will hold during the summer holiday from Monday 15th July through to Friday 19th July 2019 at the Pistis Conference Centre, Lekki.

Godman Akinlabi, lead pastor and founder of The Elevation Church, observed: “The failure in instilling in children the necessary values, virtues, character, life and vocational skills, whether deliberate or not, has created a detrimental impact on our society. The leadership and character gaps witnessed in adulthood can mostly be traced to a person’s formative years. As a church, we strive to contribute to a brighter future for these teenagers, and by extension our nation, by inspiring and instilling the right set of values at this critical age”.

During the conference, teenagers will be taught vital life skills needed to thrive in the 21st century such as personal branding, time management, people skills, leadership development, goal setting, etiquette and many more. They will also be taught career and vocational skills such as music, creative writing, photography, filmmaking, public speaking, fashion design, cooking, amongst others.

Also, in July, the Greater Lekki expression of TEC – located in the Sangotedo area of Lagos – will expand its service offerings into three services in order to accommodate more people from Sunday 7th July 2019, at the T&T Events Centre, opposite Crown Estate, Sangotedo, Lagos. Service times will be 7.30AM, 9.30AM and 11.30AM respectively.

TEC, a frontline non-denominational Christian ministry, structures its teachings around a monthly theme with July dedicated to leadership. The month-long leadership series will demystify the subject of leadership and guide people, irrespective of their current position, on how to lead themselves and in turn, lead others.
