British Nigerian singer and actress, Sade Adu, is 60 years old today and music enthusiasts all over the world have been sending warm birthday wishes to celebrate the rare gem.
Fans took to their Twitter pages to share some of their favourite photos and quotes of her and described Sade has as an incomparable and phenomenal music icon.
Many also showered praises and eulogies on the veteran singer who has been credited as one of the most successful British female artists in history.
Some showed more love by sharing short clips of some of her classic songs and magnificent stage performance.
Meanwhile, some of her female fans showed her love by recreating her clean looks, signature sleek hairdo and hoops.
Helen Folasade Adu was born in Ibadan, Nigeria and brought up in Essex, England. Sade gained modest recognition as a fashion designer and part-time model, prior to joining the band Pride in the early 1980s.
After gaining attention as a performer, she formed the band Sade and secured a recording contract with Epic Records in 1983.
Sade is widely considered a musical influence, and her contributions to music have made her a global figure in popular culture for over two decades.
She has been credited as one of the most successful British female artists in history and her work is listed among the finest in modern jazz history.
Her services to music were also commemorated after being awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire chivalry honour in 2002.
