One of the political parties with presidential candidates during the 2019 general election in Nigeria, the African Action Alliance (AAC) has expelled its National Chairman, Mr. Omoyele Sowore from the party.

The party arrived at the decision during their National Convention in Owerri, an eastern part of Nigeria where they also laid off 28 other national officers of the party.

The 2019 presidential candidate was replaced by Dr. Leonard Nzenwa.

The party’s decision may not be unconnected to the recent controversy bedevilling the Sahara Reporters’ boss as convener of the RevolutionNow movement.

The Department of State Services (DSS) have been holding Sowore captive for the past six days as a result of the pro-democracy campaign that is led by him. However, yesterday, the court granted them right to continue keeping Sowore in custody for 45 days while they carry on with investigations into the activities of the movement.
