Songstress, Tiwa Savage has received the MTV EMAs award as Best African Act of the year.
The embattled artiste, beat Davido to emerge winner at the ceremony held Sunday night at the Bizkaia Arena, Bilbao in Spain.
Others who won include Camila Cabello, three awards thereby joining the biggest awardees.
Amongst others, Nicki Minaj, Clean Bandit, Shawn Mendez bagged different awards.
Tiwa expressed gratitude to God for the new feat, saying; “Almighty God, you are so faithful. My savage soldiers you did this for us. You’ve stuck with me through the roller coasters, thank you. To my amazing team, this is just the beginning. African Woman, this is for US. I’ve been through a lot but I’ve kept my head up and weathered the storm because I know some little girl somewhere is dreaming like I did.”
