An attempt by a man to commit suicide was foiled by agencies after he reportedly jumped into the Lagos lagoon.

It was gathered that the man, identified as Nurudeen, dropped his I.D card, left his phone unlocked and called his wife before jumping off the 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

The incident attracted a crowd of passers-by who stopped on the bridge to catch a glimpse of the man while being rescued by some fishermen and officials of the State Waterways Authority.

He is currently being resuscitated by paramedics from the Lagos state Emergency Management Agency.

The reason behind his action is yet to be ascertained as of press time.
