Following the presentation of the 2018 budget of consolidation, the president and his aides have been giving reports about some of the government’s intervention programs. The presidency recently released details about the success of the school feeding program it started two years ago.
In a recent statement, the Federal government expressed delight at the progress of the program, which is spreading into more states but is still mostly active in the northern parts of the country. The National Home Grown School Feedding Program(NHGSFP) oversees the project.
“Our School Feeding Prog now providing one meal a day to 5 million Primary School children in 19 states,” the presidency declared in a tweet.
“We’re now feeding five million (5,226,039) pupils in 28,249 schools in 19 states, under the NHGSFP. Kano and Katsina will soon take the number of beneficiary states to 21. More than 50,000 cooks are also currently engaged under the programme. ”
