A new statue of late sage, Obafemi Awolowo was unveiled yesterday by governor Akinwunmi Ambode at Agidingbi junction, Ikeja.
This will be the second statue of Awolowo in Ikeja as a standing one was already at Allen Avenue. The new statue portrays a sitting posture of the late great nationalist.
Awolowo was the first Premier of the Western Region of Nigeria. He died on May 9, 1987, at the age of 78.
