The international media space is currently agog with the sensational exchange of words between two mad men; American President, Donald Trump and North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un.

The latest diplomatic row between the two countries has entered the realm of personal insults as Trump called Kim ‘Rocket man’, while Kim called Trump a ‘Dotard’

Kim Jong Un and his regime in North Korea are causing serious worries to many in the international community as the regime continues testing deadly weapons despite several warnings from the United states and other countries. Tension is also brewing on the Korean Peninsula as North Korea’s missiles threaten its southern neighbour, and possibly Japan.

Speaking at the United National General Assembly on Thursday, without any attempt at controlling his anger, Trump had the strongest and the most vulgar words for Kim Jong Un and his regime.

Trump referred to Kim Jung Un as “rocket man,” and described him as being on “a suicide mission for himself and for his regime.” He also threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea if the US finds itself “forced to defend itself or its allies.” He also called the North Korean government a ‘depraved regime’.

Kim fired back on Thursday with a statement released by the North Korean government, calling President Donald Trump “a frightened dog” and a “gangster fond of playing with fire”

“Far from making remarks of any persuasive power that can be viewed to be helpful to defusing tension, he made unprecedented rude nonsense one has never heard from any of his predecessors,” Kim said. “A frightened dog barks louder.”

Hours later, North Korea’s foreign minister reportedly said his country may test a hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean to fulfill Kim’s vow to take the “highest-level” action against the United States.

“I will make the man holding the prerogative of the supreme command in the U.S. pay dearly for his speech calling for totally destroying [North Korea],” he added

Trump returned the favour on Friday through a series of tweets.

“Kim Jong Un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn’t mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before!” he wrote.
