Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has condemned Egypt’s involvement in the conflict in Libya.

He said Cairo’s support for eastern-based commander, Gen Khalifa Haftar, was illegal.

Turkey is allied with his rivals in the UN-backed government in the west of the country.

Mr Erdogan’s remarks came in response to a renewed Egyptian threat to send troops into Libya.

On Thursday, Egypt’s President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi said that his military had the capacity to change the situation there quickly and decisively.
