King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KS-relief) has distributed food baskets to 47 households at Mohammad Gombe Internally Displaced settlement in Damaturu, Yobe state.
The items were door-to-door distributed to the beneficiaries by National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and officials of SEMA, yesterday.
Distributing the items, the Emergency and rehabilitation Officer of NEMA, Sa’id Mohammed Alkali, said it was the last batch the humanitarian relief from the centre for distribution to the IDPs in Yobe state.
He explained that the KS-relief has donated a total of 15,095 food baskets to twelve IDPs settlements within Yobe state, of which 3,774 were being distributed monthly.
“It’s a four months intervention that has been completed today, April 13, 2019 and the twelve Internally Displaced settlements that benefited include: Kuka-reta, Kasaisa, Abari YBC, Furi, Ngabarwa, Usmanti, Pompo, Mohammed Gombe farm,  Nguru, Gujba and Fune,” He said
Also, the food basket consists of 25kg of rice; 25kg of beans; 4kg of Masa product; 1ltr of vegetable oil, 1kg of salt; 2kg of tomato paste and 0.8kg of Maggi cube.
He said that the food items were provided to the beneficiaries with condiments for easy usage while calling on them to desist from converting the food to cash.
One of the beneficiaries, Aisha Ali, thanked the donor for the support, adding that the four months intervention has removed the burden of feeding her 5 grandchildren.
