TD Africa, West Africa’s largest technology distribution company, has deepened its support for Nigeria’s energy transition and digital transformation agenda with the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Schneider Electric for the development of future-ready, AI-powered data centres across the country.

The agreement, unveiled at the Schneider Electric Innovation Day Nigeria 2025 in Lagos, positions TD Africa at the centre of a new wave of infrastructure investments aimed at powering Nigeria’s digital economy with cleaner, more efficient energy systems. The event, which also marked Schneider Electric’s 25th anniversary in Nigeria, drew more than 450 industry leaders, government officials, engineers, and technology partners under the theme, “Unlocking Nigeria’s Energy Future: Policy, Innovation, and Investment.”

Chairman of Zinox Group, Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, who signed on behalf of TD Africa, described the partnership as a strategic move to strengthen the country’s competitiveness in an increasingly digital world.

“This partnership is a testimony to TD Africa’s commitment to championing Africa’s digital future. Building AI-powered, resilient, and sustainable data centres is not just an investment in technology; it is an investment in the competitiveness of Nigerian enterprises for the next decade. Together with Schneider Electric, we are building the infrastructure that will support a smarter, greener, and more prosperous Nigeria,” he stated.

The MoU outlines plans for next-generation data centre infrastructure capable of supporting both core and edge environments, with an emphasis on energy efficiency, sustainability, and global compliance standards. These facilities are expected to help reduce operational costs, lower carbon footprints, and bolster national digital resilience as demand for cloud, AI, and automation technologies accelerates.

Senior stakeholders from the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Rural Electrification Agency, Nigeria LNG, and SEforALL, among others, also participated in panel sessions stressing the need for stronger public–private collaboration to fast-track Nigeria’s energy transition.

With this partnership, TD Africa reinforces its role as a catalyst in West Africa’s digital evolution, driving the investments and ecosystems needed to advance Nigeria’s clean energy and technology ambitions.
