A Nigerian couple whose wedding invitation card went viral on social media for indicating that there would be no reception after their church wedding, have revealed how they got a surprise reception party from their friends.

The couple tied the knot on Saturday 17 August 2019 at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, in Yaba, Lagos.

A copy of their wedding invitation was posted on social media a few days ago and it didn’t take long before it went viral as it sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians.

While some commended the couple’s ‘No Reception’ decision, others condemned it.

Following the series of reactions evoked by their wedding IV, the groom Adewale Yusuf, a tech expert and publisher of Techpoint Africa, took to his Facebook page to share how his friends surprised him after the church service by ‘tricking’ him and his wife to the reception venue they had already prepared for him and his bride Blessing Oghota.
