The House of Representatives has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to reverse the executive order prohibiting the issuance of gun licenses to Nigerians.
The decision followed a motion by Hon. Nnena Elendu-Okeje (Abia).
The House said the order by the President was ill-advised and if allowed to stay, can make the citizenry unprotected and also foster more criminal activities in the country.
Instead, the lawmakers asked Buhari to rescind the directive immediately in the interest of the security of lives and property of the generality of people.
