Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade Ekehinde, on Sunday, in a tweet, lamented the sad situation of the country, saying that there’s lack of money in circulation coupled with continuous assault and killings by uniformed men.
She accused the presidency of neglect while advising that he makes positive steps to ameliorate the situation before the country completely ends up in fiasco.
Replying the tweet, presidency, through his personal assistant, Bashir Ahmad said, “there are problems, and some have been with us since 1950s. Yes, I am partisan and I replied you because you mentioned @MBuhari and @ProfOsinbajo’s govt which I am working in. We as Nigerians, can you honestly say we are all acting like we have problems? Do we really pay taxes?”
The tweets garnered insinuations of her being partisan and supporting the past president, Goodluck Jonathan after collecting money illegally. In defence, a fan of the actress dug up news headlines of her bashing Jonathan’s government over prolonged ASUU strike and other societal issues.
However, Nigerians have taken over the fight. While some drum support for Omotola including Senator Shehu Sanni and Oby Ezekwesili, others applaud the presidency and accuse the actress of ignorance.
