Two people have been reported dead after a diesel tanker exploded along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, the explosion happened on Wednesday morning at Barracks Bus Stop.

LASTMA also reported that the road has been cordoned off to facilitate the evacuation of the loaded tanker.

In a statement, LASTMA noted that fire from this incident is still being dealt with, adding that the situation has affected movement inward Mile 2.

“The fire from this incident is still being dealt with. Traffic backlog has extended beyond Abule Ado UTurn now as there has been no movement inward IyanaIba since the fire started.

“The situation has also affected movement inward Mile 2. Patience is required,” LASTMA tweeted.
