The All Progressives Congress (APC) has refused to clear the Minister of Communications Adebayo Shittu and his Women Affairs counterpart Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan to take part in the party’s governorship primaries in 29 states.

Adebayo, a governorship aspirant in Oyo State, was not cleared for not having a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate. But no reason was advanced for the non-clearance of Alhassan, who is interested in becoming Taraba State governor. The two were not available for immediate comment.

Others not cleared by the APC included Ibrahim Mohammed Mera who is challenging Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, Danladi Halilu from Nasarawa State, Abubakar Mamma Maaji from Niger State and Barr. Ejikeme Ugwu from Enugu State.

Ibrahim Bomai from Yobe State withdrew from the race.
